Dharma Lecture for Developing Life and Society

Chulalongkorn University Dharma Centre Library hold journals, old audio media (cassette tapes and CD’s), and video CD’s with knowledge, teachings of religions including Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism.  The library is open for the university community and general public for circulation and duplicate items with no copyrights.  It also provides a reading and listening areas, and dharma lecture room in its 200 square meters (2,152 square feet).

Dharma Lecture Project is an activity to disseminate teachings of different religions and give the public a consultation on dharma practice to promote virtue in the society.  Dharma Centre invites monks or laity of various professions as guest speakers.  Lectures on Thursdays focus on teaching Thai people how to teach Dharma to foreigners in English.  The teachings at Dharma Centre are not religious-specific and disseminate creeds of every religions equally.

Dharma Lecture Project has been ongoing for almost 30 years since 1992.  The lectures take place every day except Saturdays.  Hours on Mondays to Fridays are 5:30pm-7:30pm, and 2pm-6pm on Sundays.  An average number of participants is 20-30, with a total number of 7,500 people yearly.  Audience can also access past lectures on Dharma Centre website: http://www.dharma-centre.chula.ac.th/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=8&Itemid=33

Chulalongkorn University Dharma Centre temporarily stopped the service during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in mid-March and has resumed the lectures since July 2020.
