Nitas-sthan (Exhibition Hall)

นิทรรศสถาน

Nitas-Stan is situated in Art and Culture Building (formerly known as Chemi 1 building), which was built in 1937 when Plaek Phibunsongkhram was university president.  The architect was an Italian professor, E. Mundfredi.  The building was first used by Faculty of Veterinary, and was soon occupied by Japanese troops as barracks during The Greater East Asia War until it was returned to the university in 1946 when the building was used for classrooms and labs for science classes.   According to the university’s 2006 master plan, Chemi 1 building fell on Humanity Zone of the campus where Faculties of Architecture, Fine and Applied Arts, and Art are.  The university, therefore, decided to renovate the building and named Art and Culture Building to be used for art and humanity purposes.
