Thai Music Library

Thai Music Library has a responsibility to provide information system as a resource on Thai classical music for students, graduate students, and the public as conserving and carrying on national art and culture is one of the university’s missions. A project on recording Thai classical music is one of the library initiatives that started in 1986 by collecting performances by Thai classical music masters in various forms of audio and audio-visual media. Some of the information and documents have been given to the library by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Another initiative, Information Center for Thai Music and Dance, has been carried out to restore and preserve the media collection which is now in the decaying state.
The circulation area of Thai Music Library in Maha Thirarachanusorn Building has been officially opened on March 26, 2006 by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and was relocated to the third floor, Art and Culture Building in 2011.

Services
Information and Recording Search, and In-Library Listening
Visitors can search an access over 16,000 titles of digital recordings, 400 videos, and 6,000 photographs, as well as song lyrics and musician’s biography.
Reading Corner
The library has more than 1,500 books in holding.
In-Library Video Viewing
Individual and group patrons may request to view videos from library collection.
Musical Instrument Museum
A collection of valuable musical instruments commissioned by the university when Piphat Dukdamban ensemble project started in 1985, with information on the ensemble, and roles and origin of important instruments.
Rotating Exhibition
Exhibitions are on display according to musical happenings around the time of exhibition. The space is also available for music-related presentations and exhibitions by students and the public.
