Chula Museum, built to commemorate and celebrate the centennial anniversary of the founding of the university, houses information and exhibits that show the overall picture of the university as Thailand’s leading higher educational institute that determines to keep moving forward to excellence as Pillars of the Kingdom. The exhibition floors, and Art and Culture Courtyard adjacent to the museum building, are designed as modern and narrative museum that hold both permanent and revolving exhibitions, and other art and cultural activities.
The first floor: “Exhibition Area”
The floor is dedicated for rotating exhibitions of the museum, holding art and cultural activities, and displaying artworks by Chulalongkorn University students and art professors.
The second floor: “CU Knowledge”
The permanent exhibition on the second floor, showing academic strength and pride of the university, is designed as a gateway for visitors to explore more about certain academic areas that catch their interests. The interactive exhibits call for active participation of visitors with various techniques and multimedia to enhance experience for targets of all levels, including Thai and foreigners.
The third floor: “Campus Physical Development”
The permanent exhibition on the third floor presents information and photographs of physical development of the campus during the first 90 years of the university’s establishment along with historical context. The exhibits displayed on this floor show the stories from nine decades via short multimedia documentaries and models of important architecture of the university.
The fourth floor: “Hundreds of Stories from the Land of Chamchuree, One Hundred Years of Chula”
The permanent exhibits on the fourth floor present stories and depiction of the development of the university that intertwines with the development of the Thai society, both in supportive and influencing ways
Chula Museum is open with no admission fee every Mondays to Fridays between 9:00-16:30 Hrs.. An open-air lawn, “Art and Culture Courtyard”, adjacent to the museum connected the museum to Art and Culture Building is also used for art and cultural activities all year long.
