Chulalongkorn University established Chamchuri Art Gallery to further its endeavor to support creativity and dissemination of artworks by Thai artists.  The gallery is known and accepted in the art scene in Thailand as a model of non-profit organization for the art.  The gallery is used as:

  1. An exhibition space for the public and a center for exchanging experiences and opinions on the art for artists of all levels and the public.  The gallery does not charge facility fee for artists or entrance fee for visitors.
  2. A house of art collections the university has acquired over the part 40 years

FOREVER Exhibition and Preservation of Local Art, Culture, and Beliefs

Chamchuri Art Gallery house over 40 exhibitions annually.  Among these exhibitions, in 2019, the most acclaimed exhibition is titled FOREVER, displaying paintings by Anurot Chanphosri during August 15-September 2019. 

“Forever” is described as artworks expressing the benefits of giving and receiving, which are important for the prosperity of the human race, as recorded in history from the past to the present.

The artist utilizes local Isaan (North-eastern Thailand) art from temple murals.  The exhibits show the concept of virtue according to Buddhist teachings, tradition, culture and local beliefs.

 FOREVER exhibition disseminates body of knowledge in the art to the society, elicits creativity in artists and visitors, and act as a space that gives happiness to the community.  It, as a result, drives creativity for sustainable societal development.
