Dr. Sirichaicharn studied Thai classical music with many Thai music masters, starting with khim with his father, Thippawan Fachamroon and Kru Prajit Uthaichan; pi phat with Kru Luang Bamrung Jitcharoen (Thoop Satarawilai), Kru Phra Praneet Worasab (Khian Worawatin), Kru Prasit Thaworn, Kru Baang Luang Sunthorn, Kru Sorn Wongkhong, Kru Thiab Khonglaithong, Kru Pring Kanchanaphalin, Kru Ongkarn Kleebchuen, and Kru Jiras Artnarong; and musical art with Kru Thaum Prasitthikul, Kru Jimlim Kultan. He also studied Thai classical dance with Than Phuying Phaew Anitwongseni and Kru Nittaya Jamornmarn. His advanced Thai classical music studies and composition were under Kru Montri Tramote. He received an Advanced Certificate in Performing arts majoring in Pi Phat from The College of Dramatic Arts, Fine Arts Department, a certificate in Ethnomusicology from East-West Center, Hawaii, Bachelor of Education in Thai Language, Masters of Education in Educational Management and Ph.D. in Development Education, Chulalongkorn University.
Work Experience
Dr. Sirichaicharn started working as a pi phat teacher at The College of Dramatic Arts in 1963, teaching both pi phat and non-music classes. He, later, became Head of Thai Classical Department and subsequently, Director of The College of Dramatic Arts’ three campuses, Director of Art Education Division, Director of Performing Arts, Director of Performing Arts and Music Institute, Deputy Director and then Director of Fine Arts Department. He retired in 2003. He, thereafter, has been invited as a consultant and expert by organizations and educational institutions, namely, Fine Arts Department, Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, Arsom Silp Institute Of The Arts. The most recognized position as a prestigious Artist of Chulalongkorn University, following the footsteps of Kru Prasit Thaworn since 2002. He was also recognized as National Artist in Performing Arts (Thai Classical Music) in 2014.
